When looking to see if a business is open or closed, do you: 1. Google the business to find their hours? OR… 2. Go to their social media to find their hours? I personally use Google, which the majority of consumers do. #googlers 🤓 Many businesses share holiday and store hours on their social media, but their Google Business Profile does not match those hours. 🤔 While socials are a great place to share, keep in mind most posts and stories are not reaching your full audience (ah, algorithms) and stories expire. Sure, you can save to highlights, repost, and reshare, but is everyone getting that information? No. 👎🏻 Your Google Business Profile keeps your business hours front and center for people to see, which is great when updated, but not so great when not. (Don’t lose your customers with wrong information) 🚫 Google is a social platform too, and one you should always keep updated. Even if you need to close just one hour early on a day, update that on your Google, and yes, share it on your socials too. Doing both is a #winwin 🏆 Use it. Post to it. Update it. Consistently. I love an unsubscribe.🖤 I respect an unsubscribe.🖤 Do you?   When someone unsubscribes to what I am offering, I simply know it is not for them, that they don’t need the product or service I offer at that time.   Do I get upset about it? No. I respect them for telling me, I am now closer to talking to my true ideal audience and making room for others to join in. 👍🏻   Does it mean they don’t like me? No.   Do I panic because I have less subscribers? No.   Do I start sending less emails because people unsubscribed? NO.   Your product and services are not going to be for everyone, and that is OK. Your product and services are going to be for a lot of people, and that is who you keep showing up for. 🙌🏻   DO keep sending and sharing your passion, your product and service. Your audience wants to hear from you, they signed up to hear from you.   I have found when people have unsubscribes they decide to send less, they believe people are annoyed hearing from them. #nottrue Unsubscribes lead to the question of how often do I send an email?   Can you over send emails? Sure.   Can you under send emails? YES.   So what can you do? 🤷🏼‍♀️   You create a solid, strategic, and consistent email marketing plan; use the old rule of 7 as a base. Make sure your audience gets enough. ⭐️ It can take a minimum of 7 times hearing about or seeing your product or service before your audience takes action. Do not take 7 months to do it with a monthly email because you fear the unsubscribe. Do NOT fear the unsubscribe! 🚫   Unsubscribes are positive for your business. YES they are, say it with me! 📢 Embrace an unsubscribe for being honest with you, letting you know they don’t need what you have right now. One day they might just be back. BigCommerce reports 75% of them are shopping online at least once a month. Will your business get that once a month sale? 🤔 Your listing is there to share all the great information about what you do, and it includes the simple details like hours and your phone number. When your products are listed there, they are in front of those eyes, and those eyes might just be ready to buy 👀💰 🚨Alert🚨 NEW customer/client‼️ Your platforms should be shoppable 24/7, and that includes Google My Business. We always want more. Less IS more. ⭐️ I get so many emails with the subject line “Get 10K followers”. That number is a looker, I mean who doesn’t want 10K looking at your content? 👀 But that is where the number tricks the focus. Sure, the following number is important … to an extent. If you have 10K following you but they are not your ideal audience, what does that do for you? 🤷🏼‍♀️ I had a client that didn’t understand the value of social media, was just there because he “was suppose to be”. I worked those social channels for 6 years, creating content and growing engagement, but his focus was always in the number of followers, and it was never enough to him, he compared our number to other accounts who had more. He did not understand that the following we built was our ideal audience, there for what we offered them and bringing us business. Are you focusing only on the following number? If so, stop. 🛑 Focus your energy to your content and engagement. How is the quality of your account? 💫Are you spending time interacting on your account? 💫Does your content give value? 💫Do you know who your followers are? 💫Do you have relationships built with your following? When you stop focusing on the quantity and start working on the quality of your account, that number will increase. ⬆️ The following will increase with the right followers that will build your business and bring loyalty. Do you feel like the day flew by, but your to-do list didn’t change? 📋 When we have so many tasks to do, it can be overwhelming to know where to start and how to manage the list of things you need to get done. Try these few simple things to make managing your tasks easier: ✨Write out the list of tasks you need to accomplish within the week. Be intentional with the list and include everything. ✨Identify what is urgent = what needs your attention now. ✨Identify what is important = what your needs attention this week. ✨Give value to the tasks on your list, order them by the estimated time it will take you to finish it. ✨Be flexible and adaptable with when things will happen. I often plan my day and things don’t go the way I planned 🤷🏼‍♀️ Know that it is ok and re-work your list for the next day. ✨Most importantly, know when to cut it, when to outsource it. A post on Google My Business? Yes. Posts on your Google listing share your business with your audience. And when you post often, it helps improve your search ranking and generates more organic clicks. So, what should you post? Posts on Google are similar to posts on social media. You share with your audience what you want them to know about your business. They can include: ⚡️Upcoming Events ⚡️New offers ⚡️New products and services ⚡️Updates about business ⚡️Photos and/or videos Posts are also great as they have a Call to Action button. Your audience can click instantly to book with you, buy a product, sign-up for a notification and call you. You can link them to your website or social media page. It brings them to you in another space. How often should you post? At a minimum, every 7 days. Google archives posts every 7 days so you want to add new posts often to stay current and relevant, just like social media platforms. Some businesses have success posting daily, they see great results and improved rankings. *Please remember, you do not have to sell products to use posts on Google My Business. I hear this often from business, they feel it is not a space for their service-based business, but it IS. Google My Business is for ALL small businesses. Create it. Use it. Do you feel like your customer emails are annoying?🤔 I was talking to a business about email marketing and they shared they do not send emails regularly as they don’t want to be annoying and have people unsubscribe.🤷🏼‍♀️ I am sure many have this feeling, but here is the deal, people sign-up for your newsletter because they WANT to hear from YOU. Stop feeling like your emails are annoying. Your emails are welcomed. Emails are connection. They connect you to your customers & clients, they build loyalty, not annoyances. If they don’t hear from you, they will hear from someone else, and build their connection there. You do not have to sell in every email. Share your business and your brand with them. Tell them things they care about. Maybe you are helping your community, doing a remodel, a re-branding, building a new location, having a fundraiser, the list can go on and on. Share information with your email list consistently. Give them value, tips, tricks and reasons to shop and/or work with you. Some stores/brands I subscribe to send daily emails. I may not buy daily (would love to tho 😁) but when I am ready to spend my money, they are in my inbox ready for me. If you are not in the inbox, your competitor is. What does it do for me? Engagement … it’s a big deal. 💍 It is more than a “like”. 👍🏻 We often only look at the follower number, but ultimately, an engaged audience is the greatest number over a big account in followers. 💯 It’s that quality, not quantity, that you should work for, make it your #1 goal on your platforms. 1️⃣ My favorite analogy is what party is good if 1,000 people show up, then they just sit around in silence, never speaking or saying anything, not eating or dancing, just sitting. Is that a party you want to attend? Engagement drives your social platforms to build a good, positive brand AND builds relationships with your customers and clients, it creates loyalty. Update it, create posts on it, upload photos. Why? 🤔 It keeps your customers informed, it helps your customers find you. I had a friend share a story with me. Her mom traveled 2 hours to a store, she checked Google for store hours and information prior. She arrived only to find out they were closed, moving locations … they only listed that on their Facebook page. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Instagram, Facebook, Twitter … + Google My Business. YES. Incorrect information creates frustrated customers. 😡 I have been one, I get it. Google will help you build loyalty and gain new audiences IF you keep it relevant. Sound good? Not sure what to do?
